Toyo
Nut Co., Ltd. was established in December 1959 as the first company
in Japan to produce and distribute nuts from all around the world.
We have been striving for domestic distribution of nuts and dried
fruits such as almonds, cashew nuts and raisins, and the popularization
of cashew nuts by participating in the International Bazaar at Expo
'70.
In 1971, we developed and presented "Simplified Detecting
Methods of Aflatoxin" to the academic conference of foods,
to enhance quality control structures.
There is no chance of Aflatoxin contaminated nut products to be
distributed because of this detecting method.
Many of our proprietary producing methods and some devices are exported
overseas, and have been contributing to the enhancement of producing
techniques around the world. We are currently interacting with technical
experts around the world through the Japan International Cooperation
Agency (JICA).
We have been attracting attention from overseas nut traders, because
of our pursuing of the potential of nuts, and the development of
nuts products to make ingredients such as almond paste and so on.
In 1998, due to the cooperation of a local plantation, we succeeded
in the development and the local production of the "Tasty Prune",
which is softer than conventional prunes, has a fresh flavor and
is additive-free and safe.
In 2000, we successfully developed and produced the "Ripe
Pistachio" (Californian pistachios which are as good as Iranian
pistachios, after achieving an excellent flavor and passing a demanding
quality control). This was a result of our efforts to enhance the
quality of pistachios by dispatching our employees to the local
plantation, because we believed that it is necessary to cooperate
with local producers.
The challenge of our company is to continue. |
