Almond Festival

Since 1978, we have carefully cultivated almond trees on the grounds of our factory. The almond blossoms begin to open just before the cherries bloom. Wanting to share the sight of these beautiful pink and white flowers with everyone, we have held the almond festival every March since 1986.

The first year we welcomed about 2,000 people, and numbers have continued to increase, with more than 30,000 people taking part in recent years. The Almond Festival is now an established part of the culture of Kobe, and hundreds of thousands of people have now enjoyed the hot fried almonds and other almond dishes that can be bought at the festival, as well as the many other attractions, including drawing for the children and free mochi rice cakes.
